Q. Which vehicles can I hire?

A. You can rent any model from our extensive range of Ford passenger and commercial vehicles – from the funky New Ka right through to the family sized Galaxy (not forgetting the exciting New Fiesta). If it's a van you are looking for then we have a large range including the award winning Ford Transit and Ford Luton with tail-lift. Gordons Ford Rental are able to register new models as soon as they become available, so you have the chance to be among the first to drive them.

Q. Do you have a minimum/maximum age limit for hiring?

A.  If you’re aged between 25 and 70 you can rent a vehicle from us under our standard insurance terms. We always try to accommodate exceptions outside this age range by seeking our insurer's approval, however additional conditions may apply. Q. What type of licence do I need to hire a vehicle?

A. A National licence from your country of residence is needed to rent our vehicles. If you posses a two part UK photo card licence - then both parts must be presented at time of hire. If your licence is not printed in the Roman alphabet an International Driving Permit (IDP) is also required. We are happy to advise on any aspect of licence issues.

Q. Can I still rent if I have points on my licence?

A. In most cases this would not pose a problem, but please have details of any endorsements available at the time of booking

Q. Can I have an additional driver?

A. Yes you can. Additional drivers are subject to the same conditions as the main driver and there will be a small charge for each additional driver.

Q. How much will it cost to rent a vehicle?

Q. Is insurance included in the price?

A. Yes - all our quotes include insurance and vat. (All quotes are subject to terms and conditions.)

Q. How do I pay?

A. We accept all major credit/debit cards.

Q. What do I do about fuel?

A. All our vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel at the commencement of the hire. You are required to refuel the vehicle before returning it to us.

Q.  Can I take my rental vehicle abroad?

A. Yes, we allow some of our vehicles to travel overseas, although you should mention this when you make your booking and an additional charge will apply. We’ll need to know which countries you’ll be visiting and for how long, so we can make sure we prepare all the relevant documentation and cover. This documentation is a legal requirement and you must be able to present it when you pass national borders because, if you don’t have it, your vehicle could be seized by Customs and Excise. Additional European Emergency cover must be sought and obtained by the customer. We will need to retain a copy of this policy for our records. We will be more than happy to answer any questions on all aspects of overseas rental.

Q. Do you offer long-term hire?

A. If you need a rental vehicle for three months or more, we offer a service called DrivePlus. With its highly competitive tariffs reflecting the length of hire, DrivePlus is an attractive alternative to contract hire or leasing. The service is ideal for short-term contract employees, visiting management, pool cars or a temporary solution for factory-ordered vehicles. It allows you to enjoy the latest models and specification without the commitment of leasing, or the hassle of taxing and servicing.

Q. What happens if I breakdown?

A. In the unlikely event of breakdown assistance being required - all our vehicles have 24 hour breakdown and recovery service provided by the AA. Details will be included in your rental pack.

Q. Can I leave my rental vehicle at another location?

A. No we cannot offer one-way rental.
